Setting up your Email Program

The Bat!

To set up The Bat email program, follow these steps:

  • Open the program in the normal way.
  • Click Account on the toolbar menu; select Properties. Click Transport from the list on the left of the dialog box.

Your current incoming mail server settings are shown in the section titled "Receive mail". Your Mail Server address and User name are displayed. These settings point your email program to the computer where you normally get your mail. We suggest that you make a note of these settings, in case you ever want to go back to the way it was before!

  • In the Mail Server field, delete the address there and enter the address: pop-proxy.death2spam.net
  • In the User field, enter your login name (the one you normally use to collect your mail), followed by an at-sign (@) character, followed by the FULL address of the server where your mail is normally kept. The name of the server is usually displayed in the Mail Server field when the dialog box is first displayed.

If it is not, contact the help desk of your email provider (normally this is your Internet Service Provider) and ask them for the full address of their incoming mail (POP) server.

The completed fields should look something like what's shown below:

The Bat setup

Click the OK button. Congratulations, you're now ready to retrieve your filtered emails!

Trouble-Shooting a Connection:
If you're experiencing any problems when configuring your email program, you should verify that you have entered the correct information, and that D2S is able to connect with your POP mail server. You can use the Verify Connection page to help you with diagnosing and fixing the problem. Please try this before reporting a bug or system malfunction!
