Setting up your Email Program
Netscape Mail
To set up your Netscape mail client follow these steps:
- Open Netscape Mail in the normal way.
- Click on the Window menu and select Mail & Newsgroups...
- Select your email account from the menu at the left side of the screen.
- Click on the "View settings for this account" link.
- Select "Server Settings" from the menu.
Your current mail server settings are shown in the fields titled Server Name and User Name. These settings point your email program to the computer where you normally get your mail. We suggest that you make a note of your current Server host and User Name settings, in case you ever want to go back to the way it was before!
- In the Server Name field, delete the address there and enter the address: pop-proxy.death2spam.net
- In the User Name field, enter your login name (the one you normally use to collect your mail), followed by an at-sign (@), followed by the FULL address of the server where your mail is normally kept. The name of the server is usually displayed in the Server Name field when the dialog box is first displayed.
If it is not, contact the help desk of your email provider (normally this is your Internet Service Provider) and ask them for the full address of their incoming mail (POP) server.
The completed fields should look like what's shown below:
Click the OK button. Congratulations, you're now ready to retrieve your filtered emails!
Trouble-Shooting a Connection:
If you're experiencing any problems when configuring your email program, you should verify that you have entered the correct information, and that D2S is able to connect with your POP mail server. You can use the Verify Connection page to help you with diagnosing and fixing the problem. Please try this before reporting a bug or system malfunction!
